Lukáš Hrdlička is a Czech writer of detective and science fiction stories. He has been publishing science fiction stories in magazines Ikarie, XB-1 and in anthologies since 2005. Since 2010, he has been publishing detective stories, which he regularly publishes in the anthologies Nejlepší detektivní povídky roku and Jedním dechem. Two of his detective stories became the subject of episodes of the Policie Modrava series. His cyberpunk sci-fi novel Lovci snů (The Dream Hunters), set in Prague in 2064, was published in 2015.
His short story Rudý přízrak (The Red Phantom) won the 2018 Czech Sherlock Holmes Society Award. His short story Vražedná touha (Murderous Desire) was the best detective story of the year in 2021 and won the Raven Award (a competition run by the Czech Association of Authors of Detective Fiction). Several science fiction short stories were placed in the first five places in the Daidalos competition.
